In January we told Dallas and the metroplex about some great ways Classic Heating and Air can help save energy and cut down your monthly bills in 2012.  As a followup here in February Classic wants to “leave no customer or air conditioner behind” and increase awareness on a large, looming issue for all DFW homeowners…NEW D.O.E. HVAC STANDARDS!

Several months ago in October and November of 2011 the 111th Congress along with the U.S. Dept. of Energy proposed and approved legislature concerning residential HVAC appliances, including furnaces, heat pumps, and air conditioning units.  The bill sets a new standard for many States including Texas, which states

the seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER) of central air conditioners and central air conditioning heat pumps manufactured on or after January 1, 2015,  and installed in States having historical average annual, population weighted, heating degree days less than 5,000 (specifically the States of Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia) or in the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or any other territory or possession of the United States shall not be less than the following:

(I) Split Systems: 14 for central air conditioners and 14 for heat pumps

(II) Single Package Systems: 14

This move is part of a growing “green”, energy-saving national trend.  The amazing technological advances in the HVAC industry and many others provide endless possibilities for homeowners and consumers to save on monthly energy bills and help conserve the environment at the same time.  And here in Dallas where the air conditioning season can last upwards of 8 months and our a/c systems run sometimes 18-20 hours a day, this is a very important movement.  But the new SEER standard and subsequent Bill are bittersweet, because minor repairs, old parts and 10, 12, and 13 SEER equipment are going to be phased out and unavailable, leaving system replacement the only viable option. Great for the environment, but not so great on consumer’s initial investment.  And that’s where Classic Heating and Air steps in along with American Standard in offering our SPRING SUPER SAVER!!

Until June 1st 2012 purchase a 14 or 15 SEER American Standard complete gas, electric or heat pump system for the price of a 13 SEER!

Classic Heating and Air has always taken pride in being ahead of the industry curve and offering our customers the best of TODAY’S TECHNOLOGY.  With our SPRING SUPER SAVER homeowners have a chance to be a step ahead and purchase these high efficiency, energy-saving systems when prices aren’t at a premium.  As the January 1, 2015 deadline nears, HVAC contractors and companies will literally be able to name their price…avoid that “rush for the gold” and call Classic today to start saving money instantly!
